Instructor Bio
Buddha Stretch is an OG Hip Hop dancer, choreographer, and instructor, often referred to as “the father of Hip Hop.” His movement style, known as Freestyle Hip Hop, draws from all aspects of Hip Hop culture, music, and dance. Stretch was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York where he first started dancing in street cyphers and clubs. He later went on to co-found the iconic crews Mop Top and Elite Force with fellow Hip Hop artists he met through music video projects. Throughout his professional career, Stretch has worked with Will Smith, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, Mariah Carey, Boyz II Men, and many other incredible musicians who’ve come to be known for their dance performances on stage and screen. His trend-setting style keeps him in demand as an artist, and his passion for dance is exhibited every time you experience his work. Stretch believes “music is the universal language; dance is its interpreter.”
