Tessandra Chavez is a 2-Time Emmy Award Winning Choreographer who is lauded throughout the entertainment industry for her masterful ability to tell stories through the art of movement. Notable television broadcasts featuring Tessandra’s work include So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, America's Got Talent, American Idol, X-Factor, The American Music Awards, The MTV Movie Awards, and as Supervising Choreographer for NBC’s hit show World of Dance.
Tessandra won her first Emmy in 2015 for her work on Dancing with the Stars, and she won her second Emmy in 2019 for her work on World of Dance. Additional television work includes Tessandra’s long-time collaboration with Derek Hough and Julianne Hough which includes the Holiday with the Houghs special on NBC, and ABC’s pre-Oscar special Step Into….The Movies. In the music space, Tessandra has created masterful work for icons such as Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Justin Bieber, and Muse. Additionally, Tessandra’s work can be seen in the Magic Happens Parade at Disneyland which has been critically described as a cutting edge take on the classic Disney parade.
Tessandra is also a respected dance teacher who has developed many of today’s top working dance talent. When her schedule allows, she exclusively teaches for Radix Dance Convention while continuing to lead her dance company, Unity LA.
